At 127ft in length including the 3 metre bowsprit Solway Lass can only be described as magnificent. Over 104 years old Solway Lass is a true "old world" tallship with an amazing history. Built in 1902 the vessel was originaly a sail powered cargo vessel.

Then named Stina the boat was sold in 1905 and renamed "Adolf" working the Baltic and North Sea, seized as a prize of war by the British the ship was used as a Q ship in WWI. At the end of the war Solway Lass worked carrying stone, coal and produce between Liverpool and Scottish Ports. A long long history carries on from there but if we tell you now the crew won't have anything to impress you with so we will leave it to them to fill you in.

Without a doubt this ship is the jewel of the Whitsundays if you want to experience a true Tallship, you can join in and hoist the sails or just laze around and watch the choice is yours. When at anchor have a swing on Solways 50ft Tarzan rope and just drop into the clear waters of the Whitsundays.

Solway Lass is air-conditioned and has 11 cabins. These cabins are private double or twin as well as quad share cabins finished in cedar and teak. There is also a bar serving ice cold drinks as well as an outdoor dining area so you can enjoy the stunning Whitsunday views.

You can experience Whitsundays sailing as it was 100 years ago while being in the comfort with amentities of the year 2000. Solway Lass Scuba Diving and Snorkeling:

Scuba Diving is available on request and is AU$75.00 per dive available from rendevous with a dive boat. However this is not guaranteed. Snorkeling is free of charge and all snorkel gear is provided free of charge.

All meals are prepared fresh onboard by our chef using only fresh quality produce, vegetarians are catered for with advance notice when booking.

Extra Costs*:

Price does not include Reef tax, Fuel Levy, Administration charges and Marine Park Management pay onboard fees. Stinger suit hire AU$15.00 per person compulsory during Stinger season (1st Oct to 31st May).

Solway Lass includes Hot Showers, Fresh Linen (bring your own towels), freshly prepared gourmet meals and snorkel gear.

What to Bring:

Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, toiletries, towels, swimmers, rubber soled sandshoes and sandals, warm jumper, shorts, T/Shirts, camera all in a small soft bag. Excess luggage should be left on the mainland. Secure lock up facilities are available in Airlie Beach reservations will advise when checking in.
